Sanitisation challenges extend to storage and cold storage specifically, with regards to controlling airborne spore load.
In this particular use case, because cold storage rooms are sealed and not trafficked by factory personnel, it is possible to place an ozone gas generator inside, which fills the cold storage with ozone temporarily and is then ventilated before anyone enters.
Air plates were placed in various locations in a cold store for 1 hour then incubated. An ozone gas system was placed in the cold store and allowed to run for 12 hours. A fresh set of air plates were then placed in the cold store for 1 hour and then incubated.
The ozone effectively controlled the airborne spore load.

ArcAqua technology delivers ozone, a natural anti-microbial agent, within a fine water spray using less water than a total loss chlorine system. The run-off water can be recycled and reused, thereby reducing the environmental impact and reducing water consumption. Pack line degradation, occasioned by harsh chemicals, is also reduced.
ArcAqua technology provides remote monitoring and the generation of ozone on demand, to achieve the desired results. With no water pH or water hardness/softness and/or chemical related management concerns, ArcAqua can be used uninterruptedly.
With our ozone spray, bacteria, viruses, moulds, yeasts, residual chemicals and pesticides are reduced or removed from fresh food products to meet regulated safety requirements.
