ArcAqua's Beginnings are Rooted in Technology

This is why it comes as no surprise that our core competencies stem from our in-house research and development department. All proprietary technology, equipment and products are conceived, designed, prototyped, tested and perfected here on an ongoing basis. The latest version of our Industrial System is installed in nine countries, with hundreds of customers who are each driving thousands of nozzles. The impact is wide too, as these customers span various different industries - from poultry and fish, to dairy and juicing.

The Industrial System


OZONE: A BROAD SPECTRUM SANITISER

With environmentally friendly competencies, ozone has been safely harnessed by ArcAqua’s globally patented delivery systems. These systems deliver the required volume of ozone for efficacy. Each customised and adapted to the clients’ food processing equipment or production line challenges – whether for retro-fitment to existing production lines or original equipment applications.

Our Industrial System is comprised of:

  1. The Ozone Generation and Control Unit
  2. Spray Applicator (i.e. nozzle), and
  3. The Environmental Monitoring System (EMS).

1 Ozone Generation and Control Unit


THE CONTROL UNIT IS SUPPLIED WITH WATER

The Industrial System requires water, compressed air and electricity and is able to regulate the ozone and water supply to the Spray Applicators. These systems are designed for industrial environments, which means they are resilient, waterproofed and designed to comply with European Hygiene standards (EHEDG) for food processing sites.

Each Control Unit has built-in monitoring and control software which tracks the critical parameters to produce and control the ozone generation and distribution. Real-time communication via internet protocol provides alerts to ArcAqua’s service and support team if there’s any deviation from the essential operating set points. This helps us guarantee confidence in the quality of our product and our ability to prevent any potential production downtime.

2 Spray Applicator and Custom Engineering


SPRAY APPLICATORS CONSIST OF MULTIPLE ROWS OF NOZZLES

Spray applicators, housing the ozone nozzles, are designed to integrate and operate above the areas in the production line where sanitisation is required. The modular Spray Applicator design can be tailored and adapted to fit your particular line and needs with our in-house design team who can custom engineer the spray applicator to your system’s required configuration.

POULTRY PRODUCTION

This bespoke sanitisation tunnel was installed at one of South Africa's largest poultry producers and illustrates ArcAqua’s in-house design and engineering capabilities. Post-evisceration spraying of the entire bird with ArcAqua technology dramatically reduced microbial results and the potential for cross-contamination further along the production line.

3 Environmental Monitoring System


THE ENVIRONMENTAL MONITORING SYSTEM (EMS)

This is deployed to monitor the environmental levels of free ozone. The EMS module continuously samples the amount of free ozone in the air to ensure that levels remain below the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) standard of 0.1 ppm per 8 hours. The ArcAqua EMS adopts a ‘fail safe’ paradigm on detection of a level of 0.1 ppm, which automatically brings the system to a standstill and stops the generation of ozone.
